Bug Tracking in hwdMediaShare
From HwdMediaShare Documentation
A software bug is an error, flaw, mistake, failure, fault or “undocumented feature” in a computer program that prevents it from behaving as intended (e.g., producing an incorrect or unexpected result). Most bugs arise from mistakes and errors made by developers in either a program's source code or its design.
- Reporting bugs helps the Highwood Design developers isolate problems in the source code which can be subsequently fixed.
- Any member of our community can report potential bugs using the hwdMediaShare.co.uk forums.
- Helping identify bugs ultimately makes Highwood Design produce better software.
How to report bugs
If you suspect you might have found a bug in the hwdMediaShare source code please help our project by reporting it in the hwdMediaShare.co.uk forums. Any member of our community can report bugs. You do not need to have any technical expertise to report a bug - you just need to give an explanation of the problem. However, it is better if you can give as much detail as possible about the suspected bug.
Tracking fixes
If you have already reported a bug, or seen that a bug has been previously reported by another user you probably want an update of the status of the bug. You can do this in the software changelogs. All code changes that are applied to the software are logged.
Since 2009-03-10, we no longer manually report bugfixes in the above articles. The hwdMediaShare project now runs an SVN repository. You can browse the content of the SVN repository using your web browser. Track specific revisions of files as well as side by side diffs of different revisions:

Checking solutions
If you see that a bug has been reported to be solved in the changelog then the fix for the bug will already have been applied to the source code. Firstly, you need to check which version the bugfix has been applied to. If the version has already been released you simply need to update your version of hwdMediaShare to the most recent version.
If the bug has been fixed for the next version, then the bugfix is not available in an official release yet. You will need to use the Nightly Build to access the bugfix.
