Longtail Support in hwdRevenueManager

LongTail Video, the creators of the very popular open source JW Media Player, has launched a monetization tool - the LongTail AdSolution.
Their AdSolution is completely self-serve. It allows you to embed any ad tag from any ad network into your website's media player. You must sign up and login to the Longtail Dashboard, then you can be punning pre-roll, overlay mid-roll and post-roll. For more information please see the Longtail Website
Configure Longtail Support in hwdRevenueManager
Install hwdRevenueManager then go to the Longtail page in the hwdRevenueManager administrator.
Enable the Longtail adverts, then enter your Longtail channel numbe. Save your settings.
You can also enter a Media ID. This is mainly for use with Longtail premium adverts. However, you can leave it blank and hwdRevenueManager will automatically choose a Media ID for you.
You must be using the JW FLV Player to use the Longtail advert solution. If you enter incorrect variables, then no adverts will appear, but your videos will still play.
Getting your Longtail Variables
You get your Longtail variables from your Longtail dashboard. Log into your Longtail account, and click on Setup. You will need to create some channels before you can display Longtail adverts. You should contact Longtail for support on this issue. Once you have active channels you can click on the implement option and you will be given code which allows you to display adverts.
This is the location where you retrieve your Longtail channel code. Please note, your channel number is the c variable.
The Longtail Adverts
Longtail adverts can be set to Pre-roll, Mid-roll and Post-roll. They give a professional solution to monetising you website video content.
