SSH
From HwdMediaShare Documentation
SSH (Secure Shell) is a network protocol that allows data to be exchanged over a secure channel between two computers. SSH is typically used to log into a remote machine and execute commands. This is the type of access that is required to install FFMPEG, MENCODER and FLVTOOL2.
Before you can install anything on your server you need to have SSH access to your server. To use SSH you will first need to contact your hosting company and request your SSH username and password.
You will then need to install an SSH application on your local computer. For windows, we recommend Putty. SSH clients programs are already present on Mac OS X, Linux, Solaris and OpenVMS.
