Users managing their own server
From HwdMediaShare Documentation
hwdVideoShare has a number of technical requirements.
If you use a shared host, you should select a hosting company that provides support for video galleries.
If you have your own dedicated server or VPS then you should hire an qualified professional to manage your server for you. Most hosting companies can manage your dedicated server for you upon request.
However, if you choose to manage your own server you must accept responsibility for this task. System administrators study for years to learn the necessary skills to manage servers, you can not learn these skill yourself in a few weeks.
Basic server management skills
If you manage your own server and need support for hwdVideoShare, you need a basic set of skills. At the very least you should be able to:
- Understand your PHP configuration and be able to make changes to your php.ini file.
- Understand your Apache configuration files, be able to make changes to these files and re-start your web-server.
- Be able to monitor your MySQL server, change the SQL configuration and create slow query logs
Be able to provide feedback
If you can not perform these basic tasks and provide basic feedback in a useful format, then you should not be managing your own server. Under this situation there is nothing we can do to help you resolve poor performance issues on your server.
You must first hire a professional to re-configure your server and be able to provide feedback on the performance of hwdVideoShare.
